Creativity with Nature

by jim on March 17, 2009

It’s been a while since I have posted,… I know.

My last few posts have either been re-posts or something that has been written by friends. Times have changed and I have made a vow to get back in and write more often in order to not only inspire my self but to also keep the creative juices flowing within my own life.

The urge to write has been coming back to me over the last few days, mainly in the nice spring like mornings that we have been having here in Michigan.

Every morning I grab my coffee and head out to the patio. In my back yard there is a little nature preserve kind of area with very large cattail type foliage. Living in this jungle like area there are atleast a hundred species of birds. This is also where all the animals hang out, rabbits, squirrels and possums. It is really amazing to sit and watch them play while you drink your coffee and clear your mind in preparation for the day ahead.

Last year at this time I found myself in Central Florida, and this is where I began this process of boosting my daily creativity by quietly sitting outside and observing nature. For me, I find this method has been helping out allot. Since I have begun using it I find that I am much less stressed and way more productive and creative each day.

Just a thought,

Jim

Just decided to start up my own blog again and thought that it’s been a while since I checked out good old jimmoon.com. Hope all is well. I sometimes agree with the sit and clear method but lately my best thinking gets done on walks in the city. If you truly want to witness a slower pace of life, the Spanish can show you without a doubt. It also helps to have an old timey accordion player in the plaza out the window but they are few and far between in the U.S.
