Online Communities

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

Excerpt from “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus (dedication to the Statue of Liberty) - 1886

The words in this speech touched me some how and had me begin thinking about current on-line communities / gaming communities and how they are helping people.

People come on the Internet to escape, to get away basically to escape for a couple of hours and forget the real world. The state of today’s economy kinda lends it’s self with wanting to get away, thats for sure.

People that are familiar with the on-line gaming communities scene have seen a huge rise in the number of people joining, and just spending time in our on line gaming network. This is probably due to the uprise in job loss or, the state of todays economy. People are at home looking for employment, and coming on-line to play games in the down time.

On-line communities have basically become, an on-line family, a place to get away from the hassles of everyday life and people are taking advantage of that.

Most people in this situation are not just gaming, people are networking.. getting advice from others that are on these communities, they are finding out about new employment opportunities, advice on what to do now that they are looking for a job, best ways to find a job, employment websites, and so on.

Communities used to be for gaming, or basic senseless chatting with your friends, but now they have a purpose.

NETWORKING!!! join one today

Thanks for reading,

Jim
