Being Creative on the Web

There are many different ways to be creative in our world. This post will focus in on some online applications and sites where you can express yourself through; writing, art, photography or even through spoken word. Give these tools a try, and see how creative you can be!

Social Media – Get into the social media loop!

– Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service utilizing instant messaging, SMS or a web interface. Twitter asks the simple question, “What are you doing now?

Plurk -  Plurk is a social journal for your life.

Facebook - Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them.

Myspace - An international site that offers email, a forum, communities, videos and weblog space.

Artistic – Use your artistic abilities in a digital world!
Google SketchUp - Google SketchUp is software that you can use to create, modify and share 3D models. It’s easier to learn than other 3D modeling programs.

Maya - Autodesk’s Maya software is powerful, integrated 3D modeling, animation, effects, and rendering solution based on an open architecture.

Paint.net - Paint.NET is a free image and photo editing software for computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface.

Podcasting – Record your own podcasts and share with the world!

Audacity - A free, open source software for recording and editing sounds in Linux, Mac OS X,  and other operating systems. Use this software to record your podcasts.
